From the HOD of Labour Welfare Department

The Labour Welfare Department of Pune Municipal Corporation implements various Labour welfare activities for the employees of the organisation. It also ascertains the proper implementation of various Labour & Industrial laws. As per the provisions of Section 66 of Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Act, the department works for maintaining the cordial relations and industrial harmony between the administration and employees.  

Our Department provides various welfare schemes for the PMC employees through Labour Welfare Fund, Labour Training Courses, cultural programs and various other activities. As per the recommendation of the Lad Page Committee, the department scrutinises the appointments of legal heirs of retired/deceased employees. Other duties of our department involve the scrutiny of the extra work pay scales, coordination between the employees, workers and the industrial court, and the compliance of claims. Marathi Language Conservation Committee seeks to create the public awareness for the conservation of Marathi Language through various events and programs. The department strives to resolve the grievances of the employee in a peaceful way.

With an aim to provide best welfare schemes to the employees of Pune Municipal Corporation, we envision to grow and expand on the following lines:
1.    Expansion of Human Resource Development Cell
2.    To analyse the needs for the effective and relevant Training.
3.    To construct Labour Welfare Fund Complex 
4.    To create Central Wages Department 
5.    To create health awareness among female employees through arrangement Yoga, Sports and Fitness training activities
